ASK THEO
The conversation doesn’t end with the book.
Ask Theo is a digital companion built around the thinking in Alcohol Was My Solution. Ask about recovery, relationships, fear, resentment, control, success, ADHD, autism, or the problem underneath the obvious problem.
Ask Theo uses AI shaped around the themes and perspective of Alcohol Was My Solution. It is not a live conversation with Theo. Questions and responses are processed and stored by Pickaxe and can be reviewed by Theo. Do not include anything you would not want recorded.
It is not a therapist, doctor or replacement for human recovery support.
Before you use Ask Theo
Ask Theo is a reflection tool based on one person's experience. It is not a therapist, doctor, medical service or crisis service. Do not include names, contact details or other identifying information about yourself or anyone else.
If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or feel you may not be able to keep yourself safe, seek human help now. Call 999 or go to A&E if there is immediate danger. For urgent mental health support that is not an emergency, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. Samaritans are available free on 116 123.
If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, do not stop suddenly without medical advice. Severe withdrawal symptoms such as hallucinations, severe tremors or seizures require 999.
Ask Theo will appear here once you have confirmed the note above.
Book readers will receive complimentary access. Ongoing access options will be available later.
What to ask
“I’ve stopped drinking. Why don’t I feel fixed?”
“How can someone love their family and still keep drinking?”
“Why do I keep trying to control everything when I’m anxious?”
If you may be in immediate danger, severe alcohol withdrawal, or a medical emergency, contact emergency or medical services rather than relying on Ask Theo.
