A little less damage
Noticing a reaction sooner can prevent a difficult feeling from becoming someone else's problem.
Recovery has not made me perfectly calm. It has made me a little less likely to turn a difficult feeling into collateral damage.
I still get irritated. I still want the final word. I still occasionally discover that my ego has arrived before I have. The difference is that I notice sooner, apologise sooner and do less harm while I am learning.
